Promising young sire Menari is set to stand at Corumbene Stud this spring where he was bred and the brilliant son of Snitzel had a debut winner at Wodonga on Sunday trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman.
Two year-old gelding Tifosi hit the line hard for Dean Holland, surging to the line from off the pace to win the 1100m juvenile maiden by nearly a length.
A $1
A handsome dark bay with a blaze, reminiscent of his sire, Tifosi is the first foal of Satisfied, a winning three-quarter sister in blood to dual Group I winning sprinter Response, the dam of Golden Slipper winner Estijaab, who is by Menari’s sire Snitzel.
Menari started his stud career at Newgate Farm, but has only covered small books of mares with fertility issues hampering his prospects of widespread commercial success.
Now standing at his birthplace Corumbene Stud, Menari has made an encouraging start with four winners from just nine starters and stands at a fee of $16,500.
