One to Watch – Wagga

Tara Madgwick - Monday July 4

They only ran three races at Wagga on Monday due to the appalling weather and heavy track, but that was enough for astute trainer Kurt Goldman to unleash a very promising juvenile filly by Pierro.

Strangeless was tuned up with two barrier trials last month and fitted with blinkers for her debut and despite taking on older rivals was well fancied in the 1000m maiden.

She made light work of the testing ground to power clear and win by more than five lengths in a dominant display.

A $120,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase from the Amarina Farm draft for her trainer, Strangeless is the first winner for stakes-placed import Golden Fastnet (Fr), a half-sister by Fastnet Rock to  Group III winner Wind Chimes.

Strangeless was a $120,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase.

She looks a bright prospect for Pierro, who has had some smart 2YO winners this season headed by brilliant Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes winner Paris Dior.

Pierro stands at Coolmore at a fee of $99,000 this spring.
