New 2YO Stakes-Winner for Wootton Bassett

With his first Australian foals to be born here this spring Wootton Bassett (GB) was in the winning groove overnight with a new 2YO stakes-winner in Wootton City, who captured the Listed Prix la Fleche (1000m) at Chantilly.

Trained by Jerome Reynier, Wootton City had won her two previous starts and kept her record perfect with a fast finishing head win in a thrilling finish.

Retained to race by her breeder, Wootton City is the first winner for stakes-winning Elusive City mare Absolute City, who comes from a big French Black Type family

She is the 28th stakes-winner for Wootton Bassett and the first from his current crop of Northern Hemisphere 2YO’s.
