Pedigree Watch – Camelot Oaks Contender Ireland

Tara Madgwick - Thursday June 2

Epsom Derby winner Camelot is one of the most popular European sires with Australians and he has an Irish Oaks contender with Cairde Go Deo strengthening her claim overnight with a second stakes success.

The Listed King George V Cup (1m4f) at Leopardstown was won by progressive Ger Lyons trained filly Cairde Go Deo who saw off the hot favourite Boundless to win by a length.

Purchased for 105,000 euros from the Arqana Deauville September Yearling Sale,  Cairde Go Deo has won three of six starts including back to back Listed wins and holds entries for a number of upcoming Group races including the G1 Irish Oaks.

Cairde Go Deo is the best of five winners from Group II placed Elusive Galaxy, whose family is sparse in terms of Black Type.

She is one of 45 stakes-winners worldwide for Camelot.
