G1 Placed Miss Tycoon Rose to Sell on Monday

Media Release - Monday May 30

The imminent sale of Gr.1 NZ 1,000 Guineas runner-up Miss Tycoon Rose will cap a brilliant run for long-serving New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance Manager Jim Bruford’s Pearl Series syndicate initiative.

Having run her last race in January, in which she was second in the Listed Timaru Stakes, Miss Tycoon Rose is by champion sire Written Tycoon and from the winning More Than Ready mare Splat.

“In 2019 at Karaka I purchased two fillies who turned out to be Miss Tycoon Rose and the stakes placed filly Ohio Showgirl,” recalled Bruford.

“The aim of the Pearl Fillies Syndicates was to race fillies and target Pearl Bonus races and I had a number of interested parties who had successfully raced fillies in my first Pearl Fillies syndicate.

That first Syndicate purchased three fillies who between them won 13 races including two Pearl Bonus races which helped make a profitable investment for all.

Many of that Syndicate joined with me in the new 2019 Pearl Syndicate that raced these two fillies. In total there are 16 people/couples who make up the Pearl No 3 syndicate.

“Again these two fillies have been very successful between them winning seven races including one Pearl Bonus race but more importantly at just her sixth start Miss Tycoon Rose lined up in the Gr.1 NZ 1000 Guineas and ran meritoriously to finish second after an interrupted run.

Miss Tycoon Rose created tremendous excitement, and this showed when most of the Syndicate travelled from all over the country to watch her race in the Cambridge Breeders Stakes at Te Rapa.

“Again, these two fillies stake earnings well covered their training costs and their sale is the ‘cream on top’.

Many of these Syndicate members continue to race fillies in the Pearl Syndicates – the latest being two fillies in the Pearl No 4 and Pearl No 5 syndicates this year. These Syndicates are filling rapidly.

Nothing beats the excitement of winning races and many Syndicate members have experienced their very first race winners with our Pearl No 4 and 5 syndicates for this year filling rapidly.”

My Tycoon Rose is one of 73 Lots in the currently gavelhouse.com mixed bloodstock auction that ends from 7pm (NZT) on Monday 30 May. The catalogue also features youngstock, racing propositions and mares in foal to the likes of Ace High, Almanzor, Ardrossan, Banquo, Embellish, Eminent, Redwood, Reliable Man, Shocking, Telperion and U S Navy Flag plus f oals at foot by Ace High and Sweynesse.
