Promising young Coolmore shuttler Churchill (IRE) had a new stakes-winner overnight with progressive colt Queroyal winning the Group III Derby Trial (2000m) at Baden Baden in Germany.
Trained by Andreas Wohler, he scored a length win making it two in as many starts this year.
Placed at his only two runs at two, Queroyal has come back more mature this season and has more wins in store.
Queroyal is a half-brother to stakes-winner Quebueno and is from Group III winner Queenie, a half-sister by Areion to 2015 Hungarian Horse of the Year Quelindo.
He is the fifth stakes-winner for Churchill, a champion miler by Galileo that is due back in Australia this spring at a fee of $22,000.
In Australia, Churchill has sired promising Sydney metro winners Conqueror and Robusto.
