Less than a week after producing his first winner in North America, Coolmore's Triple Crown hero Justify (USA) has also put himself on the board in Ireland with exciting filly Statuette scoring an impressive debut win at Navan.
Trained by Aidan O’Brien for Coolmore and partners, Statuette was a short priced favourite for the five and a half furlong maiden and won by three lengths under Ryan Moore.
“It was nice to start Statuette off on some nice ground. She's a lovely, big filly. She was a standout physically and she did that really nicely,” said Ryan Moore.
“She's by Justify out of Immortal Verse, so she's got an incredible pedigree. I'd like to think, looking at the size of her, that she'll continue to progress throughout the season. She's a filly Aidan liked and I'm very happy with what she's done.”
Statuette is the fourth winner from dual Group I winning Pivotal mare Immortal Verse and is a three-quarter sister to last season’s Group I winning filly Tenebrism, who is by another Group I winning son of Justify’s sire Scat Daddy in Caravaggio.
She holds entries for several upcoming Group races.
Justify will have his first Australian runners next season with his progeny selling here for up to $1million at the sales this year.
