Oaklands Stud based Power (GB) has not shuttled back to the Northern Hemisphere for a while now, but he’s left quite a legacy behind him and added a new stakes-winner to his tally in France overnight when Ponntos won the Group III Prix Saint- Georges (100m).
The five year-old stallion was not among the fancied runners, but with Frankie Dettori on board he proved much the best winning the short course sprint by more than two lengths at his first run for this year.

Ponntos is the best of three winners from Blessing Box a full sister to stakes-winning sprinter Bounty Box.
He is the 23rd stakes-winner for Power, who has been popular since moving to Queensland in 2018 covering 90 mares last spring at a fee of $13,200.
