Tenth Winner for Russian Revolution

Tara Madgwick - Sunday May 15

Australia’s leading first season sire by earnings, Russian Revolution also now leads by winners after posting his tenth winner at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday with Ekaterina saluting at her second start.

Trained by Rob Heathcote as was her Group II winning mother Funtantes, Ekaterina was third on debut at Doomben in April and improved her to score a determine neck win in the 1000m maiden.

Bred and retained to race by the Heathcote family, Ekaterina is a half-sister to this season’s outstanding 3YO filly Startantes, who has been twice Group I placed in the Surround Stakes and Flight Stakes.

She is the third winner from three foals to race from Funtantes, a Group II winning half-sister to stakes-winner Excellantes.

Russian Revolution

Russian Revolution has had a fee increase this spring and will stand at $71,500.
