Fees For Glen Eden Stud - 3 New Recruits

Media Release - Monday May 9

Victoria's Glen Eden Stud have announced the fees for their revamped roster which includes three new recruits.

Yulong Prince, Palentino and Trust In A Gust have all relocated for the 2022 season from various farms with Glen Eden's Rory O’Brien “really looking forward to getting into the season.”

Yulong Prince

“We’re really excited about the future,” he said.

“And excited at being entrusted with quality stallions from great industry people.”

Yulong Prince will be standing his second season after retiring in 2021 as a dual Group One winner in two countries having won the Gr.1 Cantala Stakes (1600m) at Flemington and the Gr.1 Daily News 2000 Stakes (2000m) in South Africa.

He stood last season at Yulong Stud for $9,900 where he served 84 mares and will stand the new season at Glen Eden at a fee of $7,700.

Palentino, also a dual Group One winner of the Australian Guineas and Makybe Diva Stakes has stood the past five season at Widden Victoria (formerly Sun Stud).

Palentino

“Palentino has 359 live foals with the oldest being four, the stallion’s by Teofilo who in my opinion is probably a four- and five-year-old stallion, and that’s when you’re going to see the best of them,” O’Brien said.

“He didn’t race at two, but he had an excellent three-year-old season and he was clearly a three-year-old racehorse, which always appeals to me as a punter, and then he had a great four-year-old season.

“He deserves a spot on the roster, he deserves to be offered to breeders because of what he’s already achieved as a stallion in regards to numbers, and the probability of him getting a really good horse with those numbers is actually quite favourable.”

Palentino will stand the 2022 season at $6,600.

The Swettenham Stud owned Trust In A Gust moves to Glen Eden on a long term deal under the same ownership.

Trust In A Gust

Also a dual Group One winner, his oldest progeny are four year-olds and he’s turned out four winners in the past month.

“He is leaving runners and the best is still to come with the fact he’s a late maturer.

“For the breed-to-race market, at the price we’re going to stand him at, he’s going to be quite appetising to mare owners.”

Trust In A Gust will stand at $4,400.

Giant’s Steps, the only dual Group One winning son of Giant’s Causeway standing in Australia remains on the Glen Eden roster.

His fee has been set at $3,300.
