Alexandra Kingston Appointed Stud Manager for CHC's The Chase Farm

Alexandra Kingston has been appointed as the Stud Manager of the China Horse Club’s The Chase Farm effective immediately. Her appointment brings expansive international experience to a position of growing importance within the Club’s Australian division.

“Alex’s appointment comes at a time when the China Horse Club is continuing to diversify and mature its operations in Australia,” said Teo Ah Khing, Chairman of the China Horse Club.

“This is a market we have been involved in for almost a decade now and the fruits of our efforts are only starting to be seen here. The depth and variance of Alex’s international experience will tie in very well with our future objectives and she will be working closely with Mike Smith to ensure The Chase Farm reaches its full potential.”

The Chase Farm is playing a role of growing importance in the China Horse Club’s Australian operation and that significance is only expected to continue after the Club secured a neighbouring 100 acres last year.  

The Chase has been the agistment destination of choice for elite racing stock and dry mares owned by the Club and clientele in recent years. In 2022, it further diversified its role when also raising a select portfolio of young stock, including the AUD1.3 million Zoustar x Pirapala colt prepared and sold by Sledmere Stud at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. It also debuted as a vendor in its own right at the 2022 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale and led all 72 vendors by average.

Kingston will oversee day-to-day management of the property and its staff and fills a void created by the tragic passing of Kerry Vantjin in January.

Kingston has previously managed Kia Ora Stud for almost a decade and also worked in Kentucky for six years across a spectrum of disciplines including rehabilitation, foaling, yearlings, broodmares and farm management.

In Australia, the China Horse Club has won 13 of its 42 G1 races with performers of the ilk of Russian Revolution, Dissident, In The Congo, First Seal, Press Statement, Wild Ruler, Pride of Dubai, Stay Inside, Captivant, Extreme Choice and Invader.

Its developing breeding division has sold two millionaires in three years (the above mentioned Pirapala colt and the 2020 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale topping Snitzel x First Seal colt) and is building a growing profile with elite graduates headlined by 2022 stars Revolutionary Miss (1^st G2 Blue Diamond Prelude, 2^nd G1 Blue Diamond), brothers Marine One (1^st G2 Rubiton Stakes) and Cannonball (1^st Listed Redoute’s Choice Stakes), who were bred in partnership with SF Bloodstock and Matthew Sandblom, Meritable (2^nd G1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas) as well as millionaire Dame Giselle (four time G2 winner), Global Exchange (1^st G2 Autumn Classic, 1^st G2 Alister Clark Stks) and Giannis (1^st Listed Dulcify Stks, 2^nd G1 JJ Atkins Stks).
