Yarraman Park’s Hellbent posted his second metro winner of the week at Sandown on Saturday when Phoenix Thoroughbreds homebred Hell Hound won the open juvenile event as a short priced favourite.
Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr, Hell Hound was an easy debut winner at Terang earlier this month and kept her record perfect when hitting the line hard to win the 1000m scamper running away by three-quarters of a length.
Hell Hound was Mark Smith’s Best on Breeding tip and you can read more about her pedigree here.

Michael Kent Jr was well pleased with the run and predicts stakes potential for Hell Hound.
“It was a better win than it looked,” he said.
“We’ll see how she pulls up. She is very capable of getting Black Type, so we’ll have a look at the calendar and see what’s coming up, or we will put her away for the spring.
“She’s a gorgeous filly by Hellbent and I’m sure they are going to get better with time.”
Hell Hound is a half-sister to Group II winner Letzbeglam and stakes-placed Snazz ‘n’ Charm and is the fourth winner from four foals to race from well-bred import Miss Charming (USA), a sibling to dual Group I winner Tout Charmant and Group III winner Forest Grove.
Hell Hound is one of four winners for Hellbent, who has also sired stakes horses Miss Hellfire, Warby and Bohemian Daisy. The Group I winning son of I Am Invincible stands at a fee of $22,000 this spring.
