Trainer John O’Shea, bidding on behalf of Ron Finemore and Neil Werrett, went to $1,250,000 for Arrowfield Stud’s Not A Single Doubt filly from the royally-related Japanese mare Presque Isle (JPN) as bidding hots up on day two of the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale .
The second seven-figure filly of the sale, the bay is the third foal of the winning Zenno Rob Roy mare Presque Isle (JPN), a half-sister to the dams of Mikki Isle (JPN), Aerolithe, Euchen Glen, and Akari. (lot 359)
“Great friends and clients Ron Finemore and Neil Werrett got together and fell in love with the filly,” O’Shea said.
“I thought we needed to get some ammo together to buy her, and obviously, she was well-received.
“This is the last of the Not A Single Doubts; they are not making any more out of a massive Japanese family.
“Unfortunately, that is what you have to pay to get those good fillies now.
“As good a judge as there has been in my time, John Hawkes was the underbidder.
“She is a classy filly off a great farm by a champion stallion with tremendous residual.”
The filly is the 12th $1million plus yearling for Not A Single Doubt.
