“There are some fantastic weanlings in the sale and I think it is a sale that traders and end users have every reason to be excited about.

“The Pierro – La Diosa filly being consigned by Coolmore, for example, is a star and as well-credentialled a weanling as will be offered to the market this year.

“Out of last year’s renewal alone there have been some outstanding pinhook results at all levels of the market - $65,000 into $270,000, $180,000 into $375,000, $30,000 into $210,000, $42,000 into $158,000, $55,000 into $210,000, $28,000 into $100,000 etc are just some of many examples.

“And with the likes of Redzel, Begood Toya Mother, Spright, Leicester, Houtzen, Reelem in Ruby and many more amongst its recent graduates, buyers focusing on this sale for not only pinhook profitability but racetrack success also is vital.’’

All weanlings sold at the Australian Weanling Sale are eligible for the $7.55m Inglis Race Series, which features the $2m Inglis Millennium for 2YOs and the new $1m Pink Bonus Scheme.

A total of 287 yearlings have been catalogued for the HTBA May Sale, which was held at Riverside last year and rebranded from the old Scone Yearling Sale at White Park for the first time.

This catalogue for this year’s renewal - to held on Sunday May 1 - consists of yearlings by the likes of highly sought-after proven and young stallions such as Extreme Choice, Capitalist, Russian Revolution, So You Think, Shamus Award etc as well as an outstanding first season crop of stallions including The Autumn Sun, Trapeze Artist, Written By etc.

Vendors represented include Coolmore, Widden, Segenhoe, Vinery, Bell River, Kitchwin, Kingstar, Twin Hills and many others.

“This sale continues to provide quality racehorses. In recent renewals alone the likes of Rocketing By and The Bopper and Monegal and Through The Cracks etc have all been offered at the HTBA May Sale and I’ve no doubt there will be many more like them come out of this year’s sale,’’ Hutch said.

“There are several yearlings in the catalogue that were headed for either Classic or Premier etc that had minor setbacks at the time and the vendors decided to give them the necessary time to recover and they will be presented in outstanding fashion at his sale, so I urge all serious buyers to inspect this catalogue very closely.

“Certainly the fact that there are eight Russian Revolution yearlings and two Extreme Choice yearlings alone is a reason for anyone in the market for a good yearling to attend the sale.”
