Star Trio of Inglis Easter Fillies for B2B Thoroughbreds

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Thursday March 24

A select draft of three stunning fillies all by champion sires will have yearling buyers beating a path to the B2B Thoroughbreds draft at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, B2B Thoroughbreds is undoubtedly being seen as a boutique thoroughbred nursery with a quality broodmare band where results have been consistent through the likes of Letzbeglam, Aim and Gleneagles in just a few years in operation.

Following from his success producing from American mares, Surace went back to the November Breeding Stock sale in 2021 purchasing three stakes winning mares; Always Inthe Munny (Munnings), Ippodamia’s Girl (Stormy Atlantic) and Nothingbutflowers (Violence), all of which will join dual stakes winning mare La Mexicana as new additions to the B2B Thoroughbreds breeding sheet in 2022.

The burgeoning success of B2B Thoroughbreds was highlighted at the recent Inglis Premier Yearling Sale where they sold eight yearlings for $1,370,000 with a Toronado (IRE) colt from Butterboom their top seller fetching $360,000.

Darren McKay is excited to present Lot 404, Fastnet Rock filly from Savanna Amour.

At Inglis Easter it will be the fillies taking centre stage highlighted by a Fastnet Rock filly tipped as a 'queen'!

Yearling Manager Darren McKay & Racing Manager Riccardo Surace are extremely enthusiastic to be presenting the trio below with comments from both.

Lot 404 Filly Fastnet Rock  x Savanna Amour, by Love Conquers All

First foal of multiple Group winner of over $660,000 in prizemoney and comes from the family of Golden Slipper winning sire Marauding. Dam produced another Fastnet Rock filly last spring and is now in foal to I Am Invincible.

Pedigree features successful Fastnet Rock x Stravinsky nick that produced four time Group I winner Mosheen and Group winners Nudge, Ennis Hill and Kaepernick, plus three more stakes-winners.

Darren  - She is our highlight horse and has just been a standout since first being seen in the paddock through to this sales prep.

Riccardo - She isn’t a typical Fastnet Rock, the filly is definitely a model of her mother. She is very athletic, has a strong hindquarter, terrific gaskin, good bone and is an incredible mover. Her dam Savanna Amour was a very high class sprinter all over Australia, she won six stakes races and defeated some classy racehorses in her career so we are delighted to offer her first foal.

Lot 278 Filly Written Tycoon x Maybe I, by Red Ransom (USA)

Half-sister to Group II MRC Sandown Guineas winner Ringerdingding and stakes-placed Salome being from Group III placed Maybe I, a grand-daughter of dual Group I winner and Champion Sprinting Mare Flitter.

Bred on the exact same Written Tycoon x Red Ransom cross as Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Odeum and dam has a filly by Snitzel to follow.

Darren - She has great quality, size and scope she is out of a Red Ransom mare, so is bred on the same cross that saw Odeum.

Riccardo - We don’t think there is a more in demand sire at the minute, he was the champion sire of the 20/21 season, buyers love his progeny and it isn’t hard to see why with the likes of Pippie and Odeum being recent Group 1 winners. The dam Maybe I who herself was a high class horse, has already thrown Ringerdingding who was a very good colt. We are sure she will be very well admired by buyers come sale week.

Lot 408 Filly Dundeel x Scarlet Billows by Street Boss (USA)

Half-sister to Group II placed Gleneagles and is the second foal of Group III winner Scarlet Billows, a grand-daughter of Group III winner Smytzer’s Rivalry.

Dam has a colt to follow by champion sire Exceed and Excel and is back in foal to him so there is plenty of upside to come for this family.

Darren - She is a model of her father, she is very similar to the better Dundeel’s being mid-sized and having a lot of scope. What she lacks in size she gains in action. She is only the 2nd foal out of the mare and the first foal was the ill-fated Gleneagles (Capitalist), who was shaping up to be one of the top colts of his generation and was Group II placed at his final start before tragically dying.

Riccardo - This filly definitely presents an opportunity for buyers looking for a future broodmare prospect, we currently have an exceptional Exceed and Excel weanling colt out of the mare and we are very excited seeing him grow with such vigour.
