The catalogue for the 2022 Gold Yearling Sale – one of the best value yearling sales of the year – is now available online.

In terms of pure return on investment, the performance of the Gold Sale is eye-catching.

There have been many stories of ‘extraordinary shopping’ at Gold in recent years.

G1 sprinter Savatoxl is a pin up boy for  Inglis Gold!

Horses like G1 winners Savatoxl (cost $8000, so far won $914,000) and Lunar Fox (cost $40,000 and returned $1.1m to date) and Media Award (cost $5000 and returned $350,000) head a list of memorable returns that includes many others such as Mahamadeis (cost $24,000, won $1.2m), Lyuba (cost $2000, won $450,000), Desert Lashes (cost $6000, won $450,000), Barry The Baptist (cost $16,000 and won $480,000), Gold Fields (cost $42,000, won $775,000) etc.

This year’s catalogue again presents buyers with many opportunities to discover their next big money earners.

In total 224 yearlings will be offered at Oaklands on Thursday April 21, a new sale date to ensure clients can enjoy the Anzac Day long weekend.

Of those, 130 or 58% are Super Vobis nominated, opening up so many added financial windfalls for owners.

Leading first season sire Russian Revolution has two entries for Inglis gold.

Some of the most sought-after stallions in the country have progeny at this sale including Russian Revolution, Street Boss, Capitalist, Deep Field, Brazen Beau, Tivaci, Toronado, Xtravagant, Smart Missile, Churchill, Dundeel, Nicconi, Shalaa etc.

There are also offerings by a strong crop of First Season Sires such as The Autumn Sun, Trapeze Artist, Written By, Grunt, Lean Mean Machine, Sioux Nation, Showtime, National Defense etc.

A busy set of trials at Rosehill on Monday morning featured four heats for juveniles and the winners were all unraced youngsters by Tassort, Too Darn Hot (GB), Super Seth and Golden Slipper winner Farnan, while a Wootton Bassett (GB) colt showed he could possibly still get to the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
