Co-trainer David Hayes says negotiations have been completed to lock in one runner in The Everest but he has been sworn to secrecy.
Hayes said a meeting with representatives from The Star entertainment group confirmed which of his stable stars would represent the casino in The Everest at Randwick on October 14.
However, punters will need to wait until The Star announces its runner in the $10 million event with the likelihood that it will either the Memsie Stakes winner Vega Magic or Newmarket Handicap winner Redkirk Warrior.
"I'm not allowed to announce it," Hayes, who runs Lindsay Park in partnership with his son Ben and nephew Tom Dabernig, said.
"The lawyers on the Star side have a document and it's just taking time. The Star are going to announce it very soon.
"They're a big corporation and it has to go through the right channels.
"I know what we're doing. The owners know what we're doing and the other owners know what they're doing but it's not announced yet."
Both runners are prominent in Sportsbet's market on The Everest. Vega Magic is a $6.50 second pick while Redkirk Warrior is a $9 chance.
