Macedon Lodge on the market for immediate sale

Media Release - Sunday February 27

The Williams family have decided that it is now time to commit to market Macedon Lodge, which has been fastidiously developed under their stewardship over several decades.

Macedon Lodge is situated just under the southern periphery of Mt Macedon, one of Victoria’s most picturesque areas boasting an ideal climate with mild winters and cool summers.

Inglis Rural Property in conjunction with LAWD has been exclusively engaged by Mark Wizel of Advise Transact to manage the sale on behalf of the Williams family.

Racing luminary Lloyd Williams said in a statement – he is ready to sell the magnificent training precinct Macedon Lodge.

Macedon Lodge – which housed horses of the calibre of Zipping, Fawkner, Efficient and Green Moon among a host of others - is Victoria’s Preeminent thoroughbred training facility spanning close to 300 acres.

It is situated in Mount Macedon, 45km from the Melbourne CBD, 20 minutes from Tullamarine Airport and is now offered for immediate sale by the Williams family.

Its facilities include:

•A tranquil Australian bushland setting

•Purpose built site that can house in excess of 150 horses

•Capacity for 80 horses in training at one time

•1600m uphill gallop track that rises 40 metres

•25 grass day yards and 20 spelling paddocks

•75m salt water swimming pool

•8-horse water walker

•12-horse walker, equine spas and equine treadmills

•State of the art solariums and showers for wellbeing therapies

The training tracks themselves include:

•1600m uphill gallop track that rises 40m through the middle of the complex

•1000m oval track, both with ‘Pro Ride’ surface

•13km of ‘slow work’ tracks and trails that are integrated into the 120 hectare property.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a buyer to access one of the most prestigious and workable properties ever to come on to the market in Australia,’’ Inglis Rural Property’s Jamie Inglis said.

“Every element of Macedon Lodge has been purpose built to enhance the wellbeing and preparation of the thoroughbreds trained there.

“There is also staff accommodation of five apartments, two semi-detached homes, a caretaker’s flat and proprietor’s apartment above the main stables, so this really is an opportunity too unique to miss.’’

LAWD’s Peter Sagar commented “The property, which is largely cleared, features 8 individual titles and under recent Local Council revisions offers further scope for development for greater accommodation and other uses, but above all it presents a significant size parcel of realestate in what is largely a heavily subdivided region”.

The offering is also set to include a vast array of horse related equipment, plant and machinery and two purpose built trucks horse transportation.
