“He can maintain a good hard sprint to the finish line and he improved today and I think it was a very exciting win by the horse,” said Ben Hayes, who indicated the Group II VRC Blamey Stakes on March 5 may be an option going forward.Retained to race by his breeder Peter Woods, Gentleman Roy is a half-brother to stakes-winner and $1.2million earner Jacquinot Bay and is one of five winners from winning Last Tycoon (IRE) mare La La Land, a half-sister to stakes-winner Wake Me Not.
So You Think is the third stallion this season to crack 100 winners following only I Am Invincible and Written Tycoon.
