Nominations online for Epsom Handicap day

Breednet - Monday September 25

As the entries for the Group I Epsom Handicap (1600m) and the Group I Metropolitan Handicap (2400m) begin to be finalised, nominations for the seven support races at Randwick on Saturday have been released.

The Group I Flight Stakes (1600m) is likely to feature a small field with 11 initial entries, headed by Group I Golden Rose runner-up Champagne Cuddles and Group II Tea Rose Stakes winner Alizee.

A top-line bunch of sprinters have been entered for the Group II Premiere Stakes (1200m) including The Everest contestants Chautauqua, English, Fell Swoop and Houtzen.

In the Group II Hill Stakes there are 17 nominations, including Group I Doomben Cup winner Sense Of Occasion and Cameron Handicap runner-up Sound Proposition.

Foxplay also holds an entry but is expected to take her place in the meeting's main event, the Epsom Handicap.

Saturday's Listed Dulcify Quality Handicap (1600m) currently has 12 three-year-olds nominated.

Saturday's meeting will also see the first of this season's two-year-olds step out into the public with the running of the Listed Breeders' Plate (1000m) for the colts and geldings and Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) for the fillies.

Hiemal, the brother to 2011 Maribyrnong Trial Stakes winner Kuroshio, is among 14 entries for the boys' division while 15 are set to contest the fillies' race.

Nominations have been extended for the Flight Stakes, Breeders' Plate, Premiere Stakes, and Dulcify Quality.
