Friday's Moonee Valley meeting, featuring the Moir Stakes, is the first night program of the season in Melbourne and a host of horses set to compete are listed to gallop at the course on Monday morning.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Russian Revolution is one of the likely leading chances in the Moir after his first-up win in the McEwen Stakes at the same track earlier this month.

The Robert Smerdon-trained Ability, who is also scheduled to contest the Moir, is another listed to gallop as is Vega Magic.

Friday's meeting also features the Group II Stutt Stakes (1600m) for three-year-olds, the Group II Stocks Stakes (1600m) for mares, the Group III JRA Cup (2040m) and Group III Scarborough Stakes (1200m) for fillies.

Queensland filly Houtzen, who is scheduled to have her second-up run on Friday night ahead of a planned tilt at the $10m Everest in Sydney on October 14, is another of the horses down to work on Monday.
