Big Week for ‘Special K’ Fans

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 5

We’ll never know how good a sire Kementari could have been, but for fans of ‘special K’ there are just two chances to buy one of his offspring and those chances will come next week when one colt and one filly will go under the hammer at Magic Millions.

They are the only living foals from the first and only crop of Kementari, whose poor fertility in his first season at Darley saw the handsome black son of Lonhro gelded and returned to work with James Cummings.

Winner of the Group II VRC Gilgai Stakes during the spring, Kementari won the $200,000 Buffering Open at Doomben last Saturday to secure a wildcard entry to race at the big Magic Millions meeting at the Gold Coast next Saturday.
