There were two heats for juveniles at the Warwick Farm trials on Thursday and they were won by an ultra impressive Written Tycoon colt with a full sister headed to 2022 Magic Millions and a son of first season sire Invader, who has had three winners from his first three runners.
Trained by Gary Portelli, who has had a flying start to the season with his two year-olds, Invader gelding Vaderzan was having his first trial and scored a head win in a bunched finish over flashy Not a Single Doubt colt Narnia, a $600,000 Magic Millions purchase for Tony Fung Investments/Phoenix Thoroughbreds.
Vaderzan was a $130,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Laurel Oak Bloodstock from the Silverdale Farm draft and is the first foal from stakes-placed Sebring mare Lipizzan, a precocious two year-old winner from the family of Group III winner Camporella and stakes-winner Really Flying.
He was allowed to settle by Rachel King and was the widest runner turning for home, but quickly zoomed past his rivals under a hold to win by more than two lengths over speedy Snitzel filly Snitcat.
A $180,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Bjorn Baker Racing / Clarke Bloodstock from the Woodside Park draft, O’Tycoon is the first foa from good Sydney metro winning Redoute’s Choice mare Miss Ballantine, who comes from the family f Group I winner Alverta.
Coolmore will offer the full sister to O’Tycoon at Magic Millions as Lot 263.
