Breednet Track First Season Sires at the Trials

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 14

At this time of year there is great interest in the progeny of first season sires stepping out at the trials so Breednet are tracking them and producing a weekly report which features six first season sires with unraced trial winners in the pipeline including one that is set to have a flurry of runners over the next few days.

Hellbent has some firepower in the locker!

Yarraman Park’s Hellbent has had seven unraced two year-olds to trial since the start of this month and three of those are entered to race – Miss Hellfire, Hell I Am and Li’l Misshonkytonk -  as well as Negation, who has raced once in the Ballarat MM 2YO Classic and has accepted for the Wyong MM 2YO Classic today.

Already the sire of stakes-placed Bohemian Daisy and Adelaide place-getter Kusu, Hellbent has 23 entries for Magic Millions and 30 for Inglis Classic, so there will be a lot of vendors cheering him on to post that all important first winner before Christmas.

In the grand scheme of things, early winners for a sire means very little as time goes on, but right at this minute when you are looking at selling his offspring in January it means a lot.

The report catalogues the performance of all progeny of first season sires up until they race offering a quick way to see anything of interest that may be in the pipeline.

These horses remain on the list up until they go to the races, so the list only features UNRACED two year-olds.

First season sires with trial winners on this list this week are: Hellbent, Menari, Pariah, Russian Revolution, Spieth and The Mission.
