At this time of year there is great interest in the progeny of first season sires stepping out at the trials so Breednet are tracking them and producing a weekly report which features seven first season sires with trial winners in the pipeline including one that bears close watching.

Coolmore’s champion miler Churchill (IRE) is a new addition this week with the Kris Lees trained filly Lady Chartwell winning a barrier trial on December 1 and she is accepted to race for Scone on Friday.
Churchill has had only two runners in Australia so far and both have acquitted themselves well with Tanto finishing third on debut at Sandown yesterday and Robusto finishing fourth in the Listed VRC Maribyrnong Trial.
The report catalogues the performance of all progeny of first season sires up until they race offering a quick way to see anything of interest that may be in the pipeline.
These horses remain on the list up until they go to the races, so the list only features UNRACED two year-olds.
First season sires with trial winners on this list this week are: Churchill (IRE), Hellbent, Menari, Pariah, Russian Revolution, Spieth and The Mission.
Several of their heat winners are entered to race this weekend so there will be plenty of action to watch on Saturday.
