Second Win for Blue-Blood Mare

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday December 8

Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud paid $1.6million for blue hen Lipari at the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and her latest winner is Too Much Lippy, who scored her second victory and first in the metropolitan area at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

A four year-old daughter of More Than Ready (USA), Too Much Lippy has been given plenty of time to mature and broke her maiden last start at Wyong following a debut second back in March at Goulburn.

Stepped up to a Benchmark 64 event over 1300m she finished off strongly for Nash Rawiller to post a half length win.

Trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, Too Much Lippy is clearly on the rise and Black Type will no doubt be a long term goal as her career unfolds.

Lipari sold for $1.6million at the 2019 MM National Broodmare Sale.

A $550,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Twin Hills Stud draft for Strawberry Hill Stud, Too Much Lippy is the fourth winner from five to race from Lipari and is a half-sister to Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Levendi and Group III winners Wu Gok and Marcel from Madrid.

A stakes-placed Redoute’s Choice mare from Group I winner Tully Thunder, Lipari has a two year-old colt by I am Invincible that sold for $600,000 at Magic Millions this year to Paul Moroney Bloodstock/Michael Moroney.

Lipari has another colt by I Am Invincible to follow that will be offered at Magic Millions as Lot 213 and was covered again by the champion sire last year.
