Three to follow from Flemington jumpouts on July 21

Darryl Sherer - Sunday July 23

A slightly milder morning at Flemington on Friday as more proven horses stepped up their spring preparations.

Lee and Anthony Freedman had several triallers including Group III winner Santa Ana Lane who came away to win heat four while Lindsay Park Racing had its usual busy morning with the Debutant Stakes winner Wait For No One winning heat three in 48.67 seconds.

We noted the Steve Richards-trained Sunquest following his first jumpout and he again impressed when finishing third in heat three behind Wait For No One.

Friday's 13 heats over 800m were on the steeple grass, starting from the 800m and on the rail, the track riding in the good(4) range.

Racenet has highlighted three relatively unexposed horses for punters to follow.

BONNEY

Placed three times from four starts for Lee and Anthony Freedman and the way she won heat 10 in 48.03 seconds suggests she should not be a maiden for much longer. Landed straight on the lead and travelled comfortably all the way with ears pricked to defeat the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Mutamayel by three lengths with the James Cummings-trained Petite a further two lengths off in third.

Career (4-0:2:1)

MONTRACHET

Slowly away in heat seven before getting balanced and travelling strongly to the bend where Intrigo led clearly. Allowed to travel up between horses with Dwayne Dunn motionless through the line, finishing third to the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Prepare To Win and Saab Hasan-trained Intrigo, beaten just over one length in 48.77. An unraced two-year-old filly by Fastnet Rock and a half-sister to Group II winners Satin Shoes and Zarzuela, Montrachet is trained by Hawkes Racing.

Career (Unraced)

NISTAAN

Broke on terms then shared the early lead with the James Cummings-trained Alentours in heat four. Always travelling comfortably under Luke Currie, held together in the straight as Santa Ana Lane swept past to score by one length in 48.74 seconds with Nistaan third just over one length away. This heat also contained the Hawkes Racing pair of Ducimus and Kilmacurragh. Trained by Tony McEvoy, Nistaan finished third behind Lone Eagle and Evil Cry last time out at Caulfield and should not have too much trouble winning his maiden.

Career (2-0:1:1)
