One to Watch – Hawkesbury

Tara Madgwick - Thursday November 18

With six winners in the past week, Capitalist is a sire on fire with his latest success coming with a very promising three year-old trained by Team Hawkes.

Clemenceau was third at his only previous run on a heavy track back in June at Warwick Farm, but  found a good track at Hawkesbury on Thursday far more to his liking.

Tuned up with a recent trial, Clemenceau led all the way for Tommy Berry from barrier one to win the 1100m maiden by more than two lengths.

Clemenceau as a yearling.

A $260,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Newgate Farm draft he  runs for Alan Bell and is the second winner from stakes-placed Capital Commander, who comes from the family of Golden Slipper runner-up How Funny and Group II winner Twining.
