More Stakes Success for Wootton Bassett

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday November 16

The European flat season is coming to an end, but Wootton Bassett (GB) is not done siring stakes-winners just yet with his consistent mare Speak of the Devil taking out the Listed Prix Tantieme (1600m) at Saint-Cloud overnight.

The Frederic Rossi  trained mare was tenacious in holding out Godolphin’s three year-old Dubawi colt Midtown, who was sent out favourite.

There was more than four lengths back to the next horse indicating the first two were well above their peers.

It was the fourth stakes success for Speak of the Devil, who has also been twice placed in Group I races and has five wins from 14 starts.
