Warriors Reward Colt Romps at Belmont

Spendthrift Farm's Warrior Reward (USA) looks to have an exciting prospect in the two-year-old colt Battle Station who remains undefeated from two starts following a nine and a quarter length romp in the $150,000 Bertram F. Bongard Stakes at Belmont Park.

A winner on turf when making a successful career debut at Saratoga, Battle Station transferred that form to the dirt track at Belmont.

Taking control of the race shortly after the start the Wesley Ward-trained colt never looked back leaving a deflated even-money favourite Inalienable Rights disappearing in the rear vision mirror with a further twelve and a half lengths to Alien Invasion in third.

Owned by owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, Battle Station was a $150,000 Keeneland November weanling purchase.

He dam Uriel (Unbridled) is a half-sister to Grade III winner Vestrey Lady out of the Kris S mare Episode who is a half-sister to former shuttler Mr Greeley (Gone West).

A Grade 1 winning son of Medaglia d'Oro (USA), Warrior's Reward stands at a fee of $9,900 at Spendthrift Farm in 2017.
