A Group I winner in Australia of the ATC Metropolitan, blue-blooded Frankel stallion Mirage Dancer (GB) is headed to Ireland to take up a stud career at Ger O’Neill’s Castlefield Stud as a National Hunt sire.
The deal to secure the Juddmonte Farms bred stallion prospect for Capital Bloodstock was brokered by Jack Tuohy in Ireland and Sean Larkin and Phil Marshall in Australia.
A Group III winner in the UK when trained by Sir Michael Stoute, he finished third in the Group I MRC Caulfield Cup in 2019 at his first run in Australia for Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young.
Mirage Dancer was last seen finishing sixth in the Group III VRC Hotham Handicap won by Great House (IRE) and retires with five wins and 13 placings from 40 starts.
Mirage Dancer is a half-brother to stakes-winner Ironclad from dual Group I winner Heat Haze, a daughter of blue hen Hasili, who is also the dam of Group I winners Banks Hill, Intercontinental, Cacique, Champs Elysees and Group II winning champion sire Dansili.
