Think It Over Claims Massive $1million Bonus

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 30

The decision to bypass a tilt at the Cox Plate in favour of a lucrative program of Sydney races culminating in the $750,000 ATC Rosehill Gold Cup (200m) achieved the desired result when powerhouse So You Think gelding Think it Over carried 61kg to a dominant victory.

Ridden again by Nash Rawiller and perfectly turned out by Kerry Parker, Think it Over enjoyed a perfect run in transit and had too much class for Pierro gelding Rock to win by a length.

Rawiller and Think It Over have been unstoppable this spring combining for four wins and a third to Verry Elleegant in the Group I George Main Stakes from five starts together.

His wins in the Group II Hill Stakes (2000m), Group III Craven Plate (2000m) and now the Rosehill Gold Cup (2000m) ensured connections will receive a $1million bonus for the feat.

arker was on cloud nine of this latest success.

“I don’t want to pinch myself and disturb today, just in case,” he quipped.

“To think you could aim up for something like this and have the horse keep doing what he’s doing is just sensational.

“He’s in a terrific place and is enjoying his racing as much as we are. The horse is thriving and has loved every moment of this preparation.

“From day dot we always thought he was a good horse, but you don’t know how good. Every preparation he has come back stronger and more mature mentally.

“A year ago we were happy tun a place in The Gong and that was the start of it.”

A homebred for Richard Johnston’s Bylong Park, Think It Over started his career with John Sargent, but has blossomed with maturity and now has the overall record of 10 wins and 10 placings from 30 starts with prizemoney in excess of $4million.

Think It Over is the best of four winners from well bred unraced Zabeel mare Personal Service, a half-sister to Group I winners Universal Prince and Universal Queen as well as the dam of Group I ATC Coolmore Classic winner Krone.

Think it Over is a great flagbearer for So You Think.

Think It Over is the current flagbearer for Coolmore based So You Think, who was Australia’s busiest sire in 2020 covering 261 mares and stands at a fee of $77,000 this spring.
