Raheen Stud’s exciting young Fastnet Rock son Heroic Valour posted his third first crop winner from four starters when Heroic Angel scored an impressive debut win at Townsville on Saturday.
Trained by Kevin Hansen, Heroic Angel won her only previous trial on her home track at Rockhampton and was sent out a short priced favourite for the $32,500 Pallarenda 2YO Fillies Maiden.
She settled near the back of the field of nine, but powered home to win by a length and three-quarters.
A $70,000 Magic Millions March Yearling Sale purchase from the draft of Raheen Stud for Kenneth and Michelle Walker, Heroic Angel was bred by Raheen and is the first foal from Sonador Angel, a winning half-sister to unbeaten stakes-winner Sweet Dolly.
Also trained by Kevin Hansen, Sweet Dolly was bought by the Walker’s from the Raheen Magic Millions National Weanling draft in 2019 for just $1,500 and has won all four of her starts to date earning $477,750.
Sweet Dolly scored highlight wins in the Listed BRC Calaway Gal Stakes and the $500,000 Aquis Jewel, so her connections will no doubt be hoping Heroic Angel can follow in her footsteps.
A brilliant Group I winning 2YO, Heroic Valour has received good opportunity covering over 300 mares in his first three seasons and strong results at the sales earlier this year and now three quick winners will ensure ongoing support.
Heroic Valour had four yearlings average $102,500 at the Magic Millions Book 2 Yearling Sale and across the board he had 40 yearlings sell at an average just shy of $50,000, a fabulous return on his $7,700 service fee.
Given the track record of success for Fastnet Rock sire sons, who include the likes of much missed Hinchinbrook as well as proven Group I sires Smart Missile and Foxwedge there is every reason for optimism as regards Heroic Valour.
Heroic Valour stands at $7,700 this spring.
