Everest Big Guns in Action at Randwick Trials

Tara Madgwick - Friday September 10

Last year’s Everest winner Classique Legend was back in action at the trials on Friday morning in his first public outing since a disastrous campaign in Hong Kong, the fleet footed grey showing his customary dash in a week that also saw the arrival of his half-sister at Tyreel Stud.

One of the star broodmares at Tyreel Stud, Racing to Win’s full sister Pinocchio has done an exceptional job at stud  as not only the dam of $8million earner but also Hong Kong stakes-winner Aethero.

Born at Tyreel Stud this week, the half-sister to Classique Legend by Pierro.

She produced this filly by Pierro earlier this week to the great delight of all at Tyreel.

Well tuned by Les Bridge, Classique Legend looked big, strong and ready to rumble as he moved smoothly through his 1000m heat to beat another Everest contender in Lost and Running by a short head.

Later in the morning, Group I sprinter Eduardo took another step towards his spring return with a stylish heat win under Nash Rawiller.

The eight year-old was in career best form at the end of his last campaign and Joe Pride looks like he has kept him at that level so he will make it interesting when he returns to race day.
