One to Watch – Mudgee

Tara Madgwick - Sunday August 29

Astute trainer Bjorn Baker knows what it takes to prepare a classic style three year-old and the So You Think colt he took to Mudgee on Sunday looks a horse with a bright future.

Having his second start following a close up and unlucky fifth on debut at Goulburn on August 14, Sea Treasures was a hot favourite for the 1500m maiden and despite being green up the straight scored a length win under Reece Jones.

He’s not very big, but Sea Treasures showed a change of gear and willingness to hit the line that will stand him in good stead going forward.

His grand-dam is Irish Group III winner Clerio, who comes from the family of top class galloper Benbatl, a Group I winner in three countries including Australia.

So You Think has made a fast start to the new season with 24 winner since August 1.
