Three to follow from the Caulfield jumpouts September 19

Brad Waters - Tuesday September 19

Monday's official trials at Cranbourne kept the numbers down a bit but there were a few performances to follow out of Tuesday's jumpout session at Caulfield.

Mercury Bullet did a great job in his jumpout at Caulfield on Tuesday.

STREET IMPACT

Street Impact made a good impression when she scored narrowly at Sandown on debut in July before trainer Robert Smerdon sent her for a break to develop further. Street Impact had a quiet trial when fourth at Cranbourne on September 4 before continuing the build-up to her racetrack return at the Caulfield jumpouts. The daughter of Street Cry showed good natural pace to lead the jumpout comfortably in the early and middle stages and wasn't pushed but held her position when challenged in the last 100m. Her rating of 64 means Smerdon can't aim too high with her early but she can pick up a couple of restricted wins in the coming weeks.

Career record (1:1-0-0).

MERCURY BULLET

Andrew Noblet produced Mercury Bullet for an official trial in April but the colt failed to fire in the heavy ground and was subsequently put away to mature during the winter. That move looks to have paid off for the son of Canford Cliffs if his jumpout on Tuesday is anything to go by. He flew in his heat, jumping quickly and getting out to a big lead easily, which he extended under gentle pressure in the last 100m. That was his second jumpout this time in after he went around at Sandown on September 7 so he shouldn't be too far away from making his debut in a maiden somewhere. Keep an eye out for him.

LANGHRO

Mick Price just doesn't have unraced five-year-olds in his stable so Langhro was already an interesting runner before his jumpout. His jumpout only indicated why the son of Lonhro is still in Price's stable despite taking a long time to get to the races. He travelled just off a decent early speed before rolling four-wide and cruising around his opposition easily in the last 250m to win the heat comfortably in the manner of a horse with a bit of ability. He'll have to go bush for his debut but be ready for him in the next few weeks.

Career record (Unraced).
