First Stakes Win for Cascadian Sibling

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 20

The Group I ATC Winx Stakes this afternoon will see the return of Godolphin’s Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap winner Cascadian (GB), whose two year-old half-brother Albahr won his first stakes race overnight in the UK.

Cascadian has a stakes-winning 2YO half-brother in the UK called Albahr.

A Godolphin homebred trained by Charlie Appleby, Dubawi colt Albahr was favourite for the Listed Stonehenge Stakes (1m) at Salisbury and ran out a determined three-quarter length winner.

after his first two starts in May and early June, Albahr has won both starts since, so has three wins from four starts.

Albahr is the second stakes-winner among four winners from Group III winning Street Cry mare Falls of Lora and he is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to Group II winner Master of the Seas.

Albahr is the 210th stakes-winner worldwide for Dubawi and is the fourth stakes-winner for his sire bred from a daughter of Street Cry, the nick producing 11 winners from 12 runners and 33% stakes-winners to runners.
