SnitzelChampion sire Snitzel has a whopping five runners – Menari, Trapeze Artist, Chauffeur, Dracarys and Perast – all of them colts looking to secure a stud career.

Magic Millions sale-topper Chauffeur is the most expensive runner this year having fetched $1.6 million when plucked from the Strawberry Hill Stud draft by Jadeskye Racing/ Gerald Ryan.

Least expensive runner The Mission, also came out of Magic Millions and is the only Group I winner in the field. He was bought for just $32,500 by his trainer Paul Perry from the Edinglassie Stud draft and has already won over $400,000 in prizemoney.

Two fillies will take on the colts with Formality and Champagne Cuddles seeking to replicate the victory of Golden Slipper winner Forensics who is the only filly to win the race, having won in 2008 when the EI outbreak forced the race to be run in the autumn.

The past five winners of this race have all gone on to stand at major stud farms Astern (Darley), Exosphere (Darley), Hallowed Crown (Darley), Zoustar (Widden/ Woodside) and Epaulette (Darley), the latter two with their first runners this season.
