Dream Winner of G1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes

Tara Madgwick - Saturday June 19

Second in the past two runnings of the Group I Diamond Jubilee Stakes (6f) at Royal Ascot, seven year old gelding Dream of Dreams made it third time lucky when taking out the prestigious sprint overnight.

Trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by Ryan Moore, the son of Dream Ahead was able to avenge his two previous defeats with a well deserved length win as favourite.

“Dream of Dreams certainly deserved it, as the last two years he's been beaten a head. He's a very untypical sprinter. He goes down so relaxed. He's almost pulling up,” said Sir Michael Stoutee.

“It's a great thrill and great work has been done by all the team. He's always been a good finisher. He digs deep and comes home.”

Bought for 37,000 guineas at the 2014 Tattersalls December Foal Sale, Dream of Dreams has the overall record of nine wins and 11 placings from 31 starts and was already a Group I winner having taken the Haydock Sprint Cup last year.

A half-brother to two stakes-placed horses, he is the best of six winners from Vasilia, a half-sister by Dansili to Group I winners Airwave and Jwala from the family of Champion 2 and 3YO Colt Churchill (IRE), who shuttles to Coolmore Australia this spring.

Dream of Dreams is one of four Group I winners sired by Dream Ahead, who shuttled to Australia for seven seasons with his final Australian foals born in in 2019.
