18th Winner for Capitalist

Newgate Farm’s Capitalist has sired more juvenile winners than any other sire in Australia this season and added another to his tally on Friday when Sacca saluted at the Sunshine Coast.

The Natalie McCall trained gelding was resuming from a spell after two runs back in January when he finished third and fifth.

Sent out favourite for the 1000m scamper, Sacca scored by more than a length for a big team of very happy owners.

A $60,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Widden Stud draft for her trainer, Sacca was bred by Bert Vieira and is the first foal of Indie Rock (GB), a placed half-sister by Exceed and Excel to Group I winner Royal Meeting (IRE), who shuttles to Leneva Park this spring.

Capitalist has sired more 2YO winners than any other sire this season.
Sacca is the 18th winner for Capitalist (one in NZ and 17 in Australia), who is the leading juvenile sire by winners and second to his Newgate Farm barn mate Extreme Choice on earnings.

Capitalist stands this spring at a fee of $99,000.
