Rising Star Sprinter for Brazen Beau

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday June 9

The highest rated sprinter in Ireland this year, talented Brazen Beau three year-old gelding Logo Hunter took another step forward when winning the Listed Midsummer Sprint Stakes (5f) at Cork overnight.

Trained by Michael Browne and ridden by Billy Lee, Logo Hunter made it back to back stakes wins when scoring a dominant length and a half victory taking his overall record to four wins and four placings from eight starts.

“It was my first time riding Logo Hunter, but he was very straightforward, I had a chat with Seamie Heffernan beforehand and he was spot on about him,” sad Billy Lee.

“He picked up and went on to win his race and I think he's just starting to get a bit cute, he was a bit idle in the last half furlong. He loves to get competitive and is obviously on the up. He's a good horse.”

The Group II Sapphire Stakes at The Curragh next month is a likely target for Logo Hunter.

Logo Hunter was bought from the Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale last year for just 5,000 guineas after placing in his first two starts for Ger Lyons.

Logo Hunter is one of 13 stakes-winners for Brazen Beau and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Darkanna being from Group II placed Jadana.

Brazen Beau stands at Darley Victoria at a fee of $49,500.
