Each week Racenet's video review analysts highlight a runner from each state to follow and here are the horses recently blackbooked that are racing around Australia on Saturday.
We will follow the horses in their two subsequent starts to being blackbooked.
RANDWICK
MARSUPIAL (Race 3 No, 7)
The horse was blackbooked at the Rosehill meeting on August 26 and our analyst said : This Godolphin three-year-old was well supported on Saturday but couldn't reel in Tango Rain. Marsupial settled about four-lengths from the lead working home strongly to get within a length of the winner and there is little doubt his run ended short of the line. Marsupial recorded two sub-11 second splits from the 600m to the 200m so it was no surprise that he couldn't maintain the surge to the winning post. With the run under his belt Marsupial will take a power of beating next start. Off a benchmark rating of 71, James Cummings has plenty of options in the weeks ahead. A race like the Heritage Stakes (1100m) at Randwick on September 16 would look an ideal early target for Marsupial but connections may well be tempted to have a shot at the Run To The Rose at Rosehill in a fortnight.

CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES (Race 5 No.2)
The horse was blackbooked at the Randwick meeting on September 2 and our analyst said : There is little doubt the outside gate cost the Bjorn Baker-trained Champagne Cuddles victory in the Furious Stakes at Randwick on Saturday. Champagne Cuddles drew barrier seven in a field of seven with Tye Angland easing the filly early in an attempt to find cover but was forced to go back to the rear. The filly was switched to the outside straightening and ran home strongly recording 32.77 seconds for the last 600m – approximately five-lengths quicker than any other runner in the race. Champagne Cuddles has finished runner-up both runs back this preparation hitting the line strongly on each occasion, in a manner that suggests she is ready for 1400m which she gets in the Group II Tea Rose at Randwick on September 16. Even this far out Champagne Cuddles looks close to a good thing.
Odds $3.70 @ William Hill
LIFE LESS ORDINARY (Race 8 No. 11)
The horse was blackbooked at the Randwick meeting on August 19 and our analyst said : Loved his return second in the Broccolini Handicap (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday. Life Less Ordinary ran the fastest last 600m of the race and was one of only three horses all day to run three sub 11 seconds for each of the 200m splits for the last 600m with the other two Foxplay and Winx. Life Less Ordinary hasn't finished worse than second in his four Australian starts winning at Caulfield first-up over 1800m last April and finish second in his remaining three Australian starts. A winner up to 3218m at Ascot before heading down under a race like the Metropolitan wouldn't seem out of his reach. With a benchmark rating of 92 there are a number of options enroute to the Metropolitan and it will be interesting to see where connections go but expecting Life Less Ordinary to be more than competitive wherever he turns up.
Odds $4.20 @ Ladbrokes
THIS IS THE SECOND RUN SINCE BEING BLACKBOOKED – LAST CHANCE
Last start at Randwick in the Chelsmford Stakes behind Winx 12-lengths from the lead worse than midfield. Was widest straightening and kept battling away. Better further.
FLEMINGTON
MR SNEAKY (Race 3 No. 12)
The horse was blackbooked at the Caulfield meeting on September 2 and our analyst said : We usually go looking for something behind the winners to blackbook but the whole objective is to find future winners and this son of High Chaparral is set for a huge Spring the way he returned on Saturday. He eased back beyond midfield early, got all the breaks saving ground around the turn but the way he let down to easily put away a smart horse like Theanswermyfriend over the last 100m was that of a horse that can go onto something much better as he steps out to slightly longer trips. He was unwanted in the betting easing from $6 all the way out to $9 which suggests he’s got good improvement to come and forget the second-up record, both losses were in unsuitable races. If you weren’t on him Saturday, jump on now and follow him right throughout the carnival.

DOOMBEN
AHNDRAS (Race 8 No. 14)
The horse was blackbooked at the Doomben meeting on September 2 and our analyst said : Was second-up and had support in a Class 3 over 1615m. She got away fairly and Jeff Lloyd elected to take cover and settled just worse than midfield tracking the eventual winner Rancho Montaya to the home turn and into the straight. He shifted out but the mare began to hang in and it was only late that she straightened up and was making good ground at the finish to go down by half a length. She will take improvement from the outing and is quite capable of working her way through the classes as well as being competitive in any races restricted to her own sex.
Odds $7 @ Crownbet
BELMONT
PINZU (Race 3 No. 1)
The horse was blackbooked at the Belmont meeting on August 19 and our analyst said : Looks in for a big preparation after an enormous first-up run on Saturday. Racing in regular front plates for the first time since May last year, Pinzu found himself spotting a huge start in a strung-out field as the leader went hammer down from the outset. Straightening for home with many lengths to make up Pinzu rocketed to the line to be beaten a half-head in an eye-catching performance. The gelding with the strong career record is effective up to a mile and feature races over the Kalgoorlie round look firmly within range.
Odds $4.20 @ Bet365
THIS IS THE SECOND RUN SINCE BEING BLACKBOOKED – LAST CHANCE
Last start at Belmont settled last and over-raced. Peeled six wide on the turn but was left flat footed. Surged through the line late. Further now?
