New Stakes-Winner for Kingman

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 2

The flat season is underway in Europe with the Listed Burradon Stakes (1m) run overnight at Newcastle and won by a promising three year-old colt by exciting sire Kingman, who has one entry for Inglis Easter.

Trained by John and Thady Gosden, Megallan was stakes-placed last season at two and showed the potential of better wins to come scoring by half a length over Woottton Bassett colt Legion of Honour, the first two clearly head and shoulders above their rivals.

A homebred for Anthony Oppenheimer, Megallan has won two races and placed three times from seven starts and is the 31st stakes--winner for Kingman.

He is the first winner for stakes-winner Eastern Belle, a half-sister by Champs Elysees to European Horse of the Year Golden Horn.

Segenhoe will offer the lone Kingman entry for Inglis Easter as Lot 223, a handsome bay colt with an interesting pedigree.

He is the third foal of Bound Copy (USA), a Street  Cry daughter of Australian Group II winner In a Bound, the lone winner from Australian Horse of the Year Bounding Away.
