Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Monday March 29

The Rosehill trials on Monday morning featured eight heats for two year-olds and the winners included an Exceed and Excel colt bought from Magic Millions for $1million.

Trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexious, unraced Ovoid has had a good education and this was his third trial this month and he showed the benefit of that, doing everything right for James McDonald.

He jumped well and led all the way, cruising to the line to win his 1030m heat by a length and a quarter.

Bred and sold by Ian Smith at Edinburgh Park, Ovoid is a three-quarter brother to stakes-winner and $2million earner Eleven Eleven and is also closely related to Group II winner Glenfiddich.
