Debut Delago Deluxe Winner at Sunshine Coast

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 26
Newhaven Park's promising young sire Delago Deluxe added another winner to his tally with a Sunshine Coast victory on Friday for two year-old filly Rooibos Deluxe.

Prepared by David Vandyke, Rooibos Deluxe was easy in the market but produced a stylish performance on debut.

She travelled fourth in the run for Jim Byrne and worked well to the line to win the 1000 metre maiden by a short neck with two lengths back to the third horse.

A $45,000 Inglis Classic purchase for her trainer from the Milburn Creek draft, Rooibos Deluxe is the fourth winner from four foals to race from good producer Chai, a full sister to Group I STC Queen of the Turf Stakes winner Neroli.

The win is a timely one as Milburn Creek will offer her full brother (pictured below) at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale (June 6 – 8) as Lot 2006.

Rooibos Deluxe is the third winner for Delago Deluxe, who has 13 entries for the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.
