Yarraman Draft Features Rare Opportunity

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 24

Yarraman Park might be the home of champion sire I Am Invincible, but their Inglis Easter draft is not entirely about their flagship sire as the Inglis touring party and Breednet owner Craig Tompson discovered on Wedneday.

Their stellar draft also includes youngsters consigned on behalf of the late Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell operation offering a rare opportunity to buy into some tightly held families.

The racing and breeding world were saddened today by news of the passing of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum at age 75.

The older brother of Sheikh Mohammed, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum helped to change the face of racing in Britain and across the world, his famous blue and white silks well known in Australia and carried by Melbourne Cup winners At Talaq and Jeune as well as countless other stakes-winners.

For many years, Yarraman Park have been entrusted with the care of Shadwell Australia’s broodmare band and breeding operation with members their final crop of yearlings to be offered at Inglis Easter.

Among those Shadwell yearlings is Lot 406, a cracking I Am Invincible colt from stakes-winning Exceed and Excel mare Madeenaty.

I Am Invincible is also the sire of Lot 91, the full sister to $2.8million earner Viddora.
