Inglis Turangga Farm Unreserved Dispersal

Media Release - Tuesday May 23

Inglis is proud to announce it will be conducting a dispersal sale of one of Australia's leading thoroughbred studs, Turangga Farm, on Sunday July 23.

An outstanding line-up of broodmares, all of which are in foal, will be offered as well as a reduction sale of weanlings and race fillies, giving buyers the opportunity to enter into some of Australia's best families.

The unreserved sale will be held at White Park, Scone, and will comprise 52 mares, 28 weanlings and 3 race fillies.

The Ramsey family have owned the farm since 2003 and have established themselves as one of the leading breeders in Australia.

Champion galloper Able Friend - Hong Kong Horse of the Year and the highest ever rated horse in that jurisdiction - is a graduate of Turangga, as are Group 1 winners such as Headway, Sky Cuddle and Mr Murphy.

Other notable Group-winning graduates include Elite Falls, Believe Yourself, My Emotion and Karuta Queen while Stakes performers this season include Glenall, Farson, The Virginian, War Hero and Kanga's Eye.

"It is a great honour for Inglis to be entrusted with Turangga's dispersal" Inglis' National Bloodstock Director Jonathan D'Arcy said.

"Stuart and John have consistently sold their best yearlings with us for many years and we have enjoyed a long and successful relationship."

Stuart's son John, together with his wife Erin, is in the process of establishing his own property and will continue to build a breaking in, training and breeding operation with the full support of Stuart.

"There is no greater thrill than the success of breeding and racing thoroughbreds, which I have done for over 30 years and I am sure these horses will give their new owners terrific rewards.

"The industry is in such a strong position, I feel it is a good time for John and Erin to establish their new business and they do so with my full support,'' STuart Ramsey said.

"I will retain a few fillies I currently have in work and will bred the empty mares this season with a view to selling them in foal next year, so you are certainly not getting rid of me from the industry just yet.''

This sale provides thoroughbred participants at all levels access to families which have been developed and bred up over 20 years.

The weanling draft includes lots by proven sires Sebring, Hinchinbrook, Testa Rossa, Manhattan Rain and Lonhro as well as young sires such as All Too Hard, Your Song, Hallowed Crown, Rubick and Toronado.

Among the weanlings there are siblings to top class performers such as Fighting Sun, My Emotion, Midnight Minx and I Have No Fear.

The mare dispersal contains 10 Stakes performers including Tenant's Tiara, Torah, Niagara Falls and Group One winner Irish Darling; siblings to Written Tycoon, Rocha, Rena's Lady and Crowned Glory; and the dams of Headway, Kanga's Eye, Believe Yourself, Fighting Sun and Violate.

The broodmares have been served by many of Australia's leading sires including Sebring, Pierro, Foxwedge, Reset, Artie Schiller, Testa Rossa and More Than Ready as well as up and coming young stallions including All Too Hard, Zoustar, Pierro, Nicconi, Dundeel, Real Impact, Exosphere, Hallowed Crown and Vancouver.
