Attention Set to Join Aquis Farm 2017 Roster

Media Release - Thursday May 4
The handsome son of Golden Slipper winner Stratum and high class juvenile Group II winner Attention has been added to the Aquis Farm stallion roster in Queensland for the spring.

AttentionCurrently in work with Peter and Paul Snowden, Attention was a brilliant winner of the Group II BRC Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) at Doomben last year, training on at three to finish a close second in the Group 2 MRC Autumn Stakes and placing fourth beaten under a length to Black Heart Bart in the Group 1 MRC Futurity Stakes at Caulfield.

Attention's Queensland campaign kicks off this Saturday in the $125,000 Group III Gold Coast Guineas (1200m).

A $620,000 Inglis Easter purchase for James Harron Bloodstock, Attention was bred and offered for sale by leading Queensland nursery Highgrove Stud, so it only seems fitting that he will return to his home state to take up stud duties.

"On behalf of his owners, we are hugely excited make decision now that Attention will stand at Aquis Farm in Queensland " Harron said. "Attention was a standout at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and he's been a wonderful horse through his racing career to date."

"He's a magnificent type, with the pedigree to match, and while there is more to come with him on the racetrack, we are delighted that the next chapter for him is secured with one of the most progressive farms in Australia where he will be given every chance to succeed at stud."

Highgrove Stud principle and breeder Ron Gilbert echoed Harron's comments adding:"From the very beginning we knew Attention was something special, he's always had a presence, it was no surprise to us what he has achieved. Firstly in the sales ring and then on the racetrack and now we expect him to carry through to his stud career."

Carrying on the dominant Redoute's Choice sire line that has produced Champion sires Snitzel and Not A Single Doubt, Attention is bred for colonial juvenile speed and is a physical specimen that must be seen to be truly appreciated. From a superb female family nurtured by highly respected stallion making farm Gooree Stud, Attention will stand at a preliminary fee of $11,000 including GST for the 2017 breeding season.

"Attention is a high class horse that would command serious respect on any stallion roster. He was a classy two year-old that has trained on and continues to race amongst the countries elite," said Magic Millions Managing Director, Vin Cox.

"Aquis is to be congratulated on securing a horse of this calibre for the Queensland industry."

The stallion will be strongly supported by mares from Aquis Farm with Aquis Director of Sales Jonathan Crowley commenting he expected the stallion to fill quickly given his race record and outstanding pedigree and conformation.

"We are looking forward to watching this colt compete with the country's best 3yo's this Winter in Brisbane, but more so we can't wait to get him back to the farm and in front of our breeder clients.

"He's an awesome physical with quality, strength and power in spades."
