Another Gem from a Blue Hen

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 2
Leading South Australian nursery Mill Park have enjoyed widespread success over many years, both on the track and in the sale ring, and this particular mare has played a pivotal role in that success.

A Group I placed Group III winner, Dane Belltar has had five foals to race and all are winners headed by triple Group I winner and $3.8 million earner Fawkner, $1.1 million earner and Group II winner Tanby, Group II placed Viking Star and the ever consistent metro winner of over $250,000, Revitalise.

Last year Mill Park sold a Street Cry (IRE) colt from Dane Belltar at Inglis Easter for $300,000 to Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum that has since been sent to South Africa and this year will offer a stunning grey colt by Sebring.

Catalogued as Lot 97, the athletic grey is guaranteed to turn heads.

"He's a lovely leggy colt with that fluid action that Dane Belltar gives to them all," said Chris Watson of Mill Park.

"He's probably the closest we've had from the mare in type to Fawkner since he was born and that's a big positive."

Dane Belltar's Starcraft daughter Fife, who made $650,000 at Inglis Easter in 2014 was a promising winner last year for the Robert Smerdon stable and is now back in work following a lengthy spell.

"She won a recent trial at Cranbourne and appears to have come back very well," said Watson.

Mill Park will also offer the following four outstanding yearlings and click here for more information:
