Black Type Performer for Wrote

Media Release - Thursday September 14
Highview Stud's young High Chaparral sire Wrote (IRE) has struck a black type blow in the United States.

High Providence, a colt from his first Northern Hemisphere crop, came off a debut victory to finish runner-up behind the undefeated Budro Talking at the weekend, in the Listed Sunday Silence Stakes (1600m) at Louisiana Downs.

As he did on debut, High Providence settled close to the rear on jumping where the leaders set a moderate pace. He held this position until approaching the home turn, where he improved widest of all to finish one-and-three-quarter-lengths from the winner.

WroteHigh Providence is out of the Military mare Gonna, who like Wrote has the Blue Hen mare Speical as her fourth dam. This augurs well for Wrote in New Zealand as Special is prominent in many New Zealand broodmare's pedigrees.

"History will show you that the stallions which havesucceeded in New Zealand in the past have had pedigrees that suit a large proportion of the local broodmare population," said Highview's Brent Gillovic.

Wrote has begun serving his first book of southern hemisphere mares and at $5,000 +GST he is proving very popular with breeders.

High Chaparral's most precocious son, Wrote was the winnerof the Gr.1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf.
